Cosmetic Lad Facial Moisturizer

This past winter my face was DYING for moisture, as I'm sure many of yours were if you experienced an overly windy season like we did in Virginia... I turned to LUSH, as usual, for a product that would not just keep my face feeling wonderful throughout the day, but could also soothe the sensitive skin I was dealing with.
That is where Cosmetic Lad came into play, and thank goodness for it!

"Loved by lads and ladies alike. Multi-purpose lavender, wheatgrass and marigold cream for shaving, moisturizing, and even hair styling. Is there anything this lad can't do?"

The first time I used this product was Christmas Day, 2014, and my face was killing me from a skin flare up on my cheek and around my eyes... Fresh out of the shower, I toned my face and turned to this little, black pot... And I'll tell you, withing five minutes, my face felt calm, cooled off, and soft as ever.
Its scent is an oddly nice mix of medicinal and slightly sweet lavender, nothing like "tangerine ice cream" as LUSH describes it. Maybe that's just me? But once massaged into the skin, it seems the scent doesn't stick around, even with how creamy this moisturizer is... Soothing aloe vera and softening cocoa butter make this multi-use product worth every penny, but the chamomile, merigold, and chickweed extracts that combat skin irritations are what definitly set this facial moisturizer a step or two ahead of most for those of us with sensitive skin.
As the spring weather started to roll in, and the winter winds died down, I noticed my already oily skin was even more oily... It seemed far too "dewy" for what I felt was proper for my face... I realized after taking a break from a few different face products, one at a time, that Cosmetic Lad was the culprit. It was a saddening realization, but I suppose this product will have to be a cold-weather exclusive for me.
I've not only tried Cosmetic Lad as a moisturizer, but also as a shaving cream when my skin is extra sensitive in the underarm area. I'm a die-hard D'Fluff girl, so to not waste the remaining of the pot now that its warm, I've been using it as a shaving cream while at Mister's! It works pretty well, and doesn't leave nearly as many shave bumps as regular shaving creams by drug store companies would... Maybe when there is a smidgen left, I'll try using it to style my bangs. Who knows.
Ultimately, I give this product (as a moisturizer) a 4/5 for cold weather, but a 2/5 for warm weather. Again, these ratings are based off my experience and skin type! Don't forget if you're curious about certain body products by LUSH Cosmetics, your local staff will gladly provide demonstrations and samples.
